Garden Grove Man Charged With Molesting 7 Girls

Salvador Dirceo Agaton was a neighbor to five of the alleged victims, said Deputy District Attorney Lexie Elliott.

A 45-year-old man, who had avoided arrest for more than a year and a half, made his first appearance in court Friday on charges of sexually assaulting seven girls in Garden Grove.

Salvador Dirceo Agaton was charged Aug. 29, 2016, with one count of oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 or younger and four counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14, all felonies, as well as three misdemeanor counts of child annoyance, according to court records.

Agaton was a neighbor to five of the alleged victims, said Deputy District Attorney Lexie Elliott.

The alleged attacks happened between 2011 to 2013, and the victims ranged in age from 6 to 14, she said.

One of the children told a nurse at school about the allegations, touching off the investigation, the prosecutor said.

Arraignment for Agaton, who was arrested Wednesday, was rescheduled to April 20.
