Flights were halted and a German airport terminal was evacuated Monday after a person allegedly entered a restricted area without going through security, NBC News reported.
Five flights were affected by the disruption at Cologne Bonn Airport's Terminal 1. Officials said a man walked into an exit-only area meant for arriving passengers traveling with only carry-on luggage around 11 a.m. local time (5 p.m. ET).
The terminal was shuttered for 2 1/2 hours while teams with dogs searched for the suspect and dangerous materials, according to NBC News.
