Iconic “Love Locks” on Paris' Ponte de Arts Removed

French officials will bid adieu to the iconic "Love Locks" on Paris' Pont des Arts bridge after sections of the railings became "weakened under the weight," the city's council said on its website, NBC News reported. For years, couples in Paris have been saying je t'aime by placing padlocks as a symbol of their everlasting bond on the city's famed bridge. The city of Paris will start removing the locks on Monday. Members of advocacy group No Love Locks, which has been urging the city to ban the practice outright, was delighted by the decision.
