You may have noticed San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders on cable recently. He’s made appearances on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and NBC Nightly News in recent weeks.

Often the subject is drug-related violence in Mexico. And according to the mayor’s staff, often the cable shows have reached out to Sanders not vice versa.
Sanders' communications director, Darren Pudgil, told VOSD that the mayor is staying put. "He's been pretty clear that he has no intention of seeking higher office," Pudgil told the online news site.
