The Padres certainly have a different roster on Opening Day this year than they did last year. A whopping 17 of the 25 guys are donning a San Diego uniform for the first time.
Padres fans have heard the dreaded "youth movement" thrown around before and it typically is another way of saying "we're going to lose 90 games this season."
The roster features seven players who are 25 years old or younger and 16 who are 30 and under. The veterans like Matt Kemp and Fernando Rodney might be the ones helping the club try and win now but they're also the ones who are being asked to mentor the youngsters.
