A man prompted a police standoff at Montgomery Middle School Thursday evening, confirmed San Diego police.
Police said a man with apparent mental health issues was walking down Picador Boulevard, saw SDPD officers and ran away around 7 p.m. He ended up on school property.
The Primary Response Team was at the scene attempting to negotiate with the man.
It was unclear if he had a weapon.
A perimeter was set up around the school.
The man was taken into custody just before 9:30 p.m.
There were no injuries.
