An impressive plume of smoke from a brush fire over the county line caught the attention of North County on Monday.
Firefighters were still battling the 50-acre brush fire in an orange grove in the De Luz area on Vuelte Grande Road at about 4 p.m. The fire was first reported at 1:30 p.m. and is not believed to have damaged nor threatened any structures.
Three engines and five hand crews -- a total of about 80 firefighters -- were dispatched from San Diego to assist in the firefighting efforts.
