The U.S. Air Force recently awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. a $39.5 million contract for modifications to its Reaper unmanned aircraft and ground control stations.
The project is called the MQ-9 Technology Insertion Technical Solution. A Pentagon announcement did not elaborate on the project.
Work will be performed in Poway, the company’s home base, and is expected to be completed by May 2016.
