Police Investigate 2 Overnight Robberies

Police are investigating whether two robberies that happened overnight in Hillcrest and Golden Hill just minutes apart are connected.

In the first case, the robber entered the La Posta Taco Shop at Third Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The suspect pointed a gun at an employee and demanded cash, police said.

Then, less than a half hour later, in very similar fashion, a suspect entered a 7-Eleven convenience store at 24th Street and Broadway in Golden Hill and pointed a gun at a clerk, demanding money, San Diego police said.

In both cases, the suspect was wearing a black bandanna, though in the second case he’s described as wearing a bright blue sweatshirt and white gloves.

No one was hurt in either case.

No arrests have been made.
