Names of Priests Accused of Abuse to Be Released

The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego will release files of priests accused of sexually abusing children.

The diocese will begin releasing the names on Sunday, and they will include files of living and deceased priests accused over the past several decades.

Victims said they want their alleged abusers identified so it can not happen again. Guy Lowry is one of the victims.

"It would  vindicate a lot of victims to come forward, because it felt like you weren't alone anymore," Lowry said. "It will also help people realize that these people are also in their community, possibly doing the same crimes."

The move by the diocese is a part of a settlement agreement reached with victims in September 2006.
