Taco Shop Burned in La Jolla

Firefighters knocked down the blaze in a short time

Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a La Jolla commercial building, according to officials.

A second alarm was activated after it was knocked down as a precaution after finding a fire in another part of the building.

The fire started in a taco shop on the 7900 block of Ivanhoe Avenue. Heavy smoke was showing from the back of the building, located next to the La Jolla Post Office.

The building was evacuated and firefighters knocked down the blaze shortly after it began.

Medics responded for one smoke inhalation patient.

Authorities say the fire started in the back of the taco shop, but they do not know yet what or who started it.
