The father of a slain U.S. Navy officer was traveling to San Diego to speak with homicide investigators after a second son was taken into custody.
Jonathan Jake Tenorio, 25, of Guam, died of an apparent stab wound inside a unit at the River Front condo complex on Camino De La Reina in Mission Valley.
His body was discovered Sunday around 6:20 a.m.
The next day, investigators announced an arrest in the case – the victim’s 21-year-old brother Zachary Tenorio. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department website, Zachary is being held for murder.
In an update Tuesday, police confirmed that Zachary Tenorio called police Sunday morning reporting the death.
There are still a lot of other questions about what happened.
"We're not exactly sure what happened. There must have been some sort of argument, some sort of physical altercation that led to the victim being stabbed," San Diego police Lt Jorge Duran said.
Questions likely shared by the father of both men who was on his way to San Diego Monday.
"You can ask anybody that knows Jonathan the type of person he is and you know he's very respectful," his father told a Guam website.
As for the brother’s arrest, he said they are a close, tight-knit family. He told the website he had been briefed on the situation but added, "They told me some stuff and I really don't want to put any information out there."

Jonathan Tenorio was a newlywed and a 2012 graduate of the Naval Academy just beginning his military career in San Diego.
Tenorio graduated as a Surface Warfare Officer in May 2012. He was assigned to serve on USS Bunker Hill.
