Crews rescued a hiker with an ankle injury on Monday morning in Chula Vista.
The hiker was spotted in distress at about 11 a.m. in the area of Proctor Valley Road and Agua Vista Drive, near the Centennial Trail.
Crews, including a Heavy Rescue vehicle and a helicopter, took the person to a local hospital, fire officials said.
The hiker had an ankle injury, but no other information was available.
Record-high temperatures were predicted for Monday afternoon.
