Friends and family of a man shot and killed in a park gathered in Emerald Hills to remember him in an emotional vigil Monday night.
46-year old Kevin Spelmon was killed Sunday around 5:16 p.m at Emerald Hills Neighborhood Park on Bethune Court near Kelton Road, according to San Diego Police.
“I'm scared. I don't want to know he was laying there. I don't want to know any of that. I don't want to know he was in pain,” Spelmon’s wife Kelly said.

Police are still searching for the two suspected gunmen, described as 15 to 17 years old.
According to investigators, both suspects walked up Spelmon while he was working on his older model car at the park and opened fire.
Witness say they heard four to eight shots.
“He was just working on his car then we hear firecrackers. That's all we hear, the sound of firecrackers,” witness Lamar Manson said.
Police said the suspects then ran southbound on Kelton Road and may have escaped in a gray colored car, possibly a Nissan.
Friends drove Spelmon to the hospital and he was then transported to another hospital with a trauma center where he later died.
Police are calling this a targeted attack.
"They seemed to just strike the victim, so we do believe he was the target of this attack and the motivation isn’t known at this time," said Lt. Manuel Del Toro.
Investigators say the suspects were wearing dark pants and hoodies.
