If the due date to file taxes feels like an ominous storm cloud, there is hope for select San Diegans who serve their communities.
Educators, law enforcement members, firefighters, EMT, and service members (active and veterans) can receive free tax preparation at any Liberty Tax Service location in San Diego for a limited time.
“A lot of people are in a difficult situation right now and tax returns are getting more and more expensive,” said Gabe Comez, CTEC Registered Tax Preparer. “This is our way to give back to the community.”
And while this is not the first year they have offered aid, it comes during a time when unemployment is high.

Gomez adds that tax relief is also available for those who were recently laid off and are seeking a job.
