Clothing Drive Seeks Business Attire for Women Veterans

Operation Dress Code, a regional clothing drive for women veterans, kicked off Tuesday in San Diego.

Bins are set up throughout San Diego at offices, veterans organizations and some Starbucks coffee shops to receive donations of new and gently used professional clothes for women veterans to assist them in their transition to civilian careers.

In addition to professional clothes and shoes, accessories such as handbags and jewelry will also be accepted.

Donation locations include the San Diego Regional Center of Commerce office on Broadway, American Legion Post 731 building on Linda Vista Road and the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center at Balboa Park.

The bins will be collected Oct. 7 ahead of an Oct. 15 event, Dress Code Boutique Day, at which women veterans will be able to “shop” the donations.
