If you've been livin' on a prayer or just hoping beyond hope that Bon Jovi kicks the touring machine into high gear and rolls through San Diego -- your wish just came true, my friend. Yup, break out the hairspray and the leg warmers, Mr. Jon Bon Jovi and his bad medicine-lovin' buds are finally returning to America's Finest City!
While you'll have to wait until next year -- March 5, 2017 to be exact -- to see 'em at SDSU's Viejas Arena, what's a few more months when you've already been waiting since oh, I don't know, 2000? Yup, the band has skipped us for nearly two decades (#neverforget), unless you count Jon's intimate and extremely pricey solo show at downtown's Hard Rock Hotel back in 2014 -- and we definitely don't count that, do we? No, we don't.
In any case, Bon Jovi, we've kept the faith even though you've severely tested our patience and, heck, almost gave our love a bad name -- but now look at us: besties once again! Not gonna lie, it's been tough: We've been reminded of the band's absence every time Jon's DirecTV commercial comes on, or we hear about all the cool things he does (don't forget this), and especially when that wedding band made him awkwardly sing his own song with them that one time. I mean, we've tried to move on but we just can't quit you -- unlike that Richie Sambora dude, eh (zing)? Side note: Love ya, 'Bora!
But anyway, back to the matter at hand: You might be wondering, "OK, they're playing on March 5, 2017 at Viejas Arena -- cool story, bro. Now how and when can I get tickets!?!" Here's the rundown: American Express cardholders and Bon Jovi fan club members (that's you and me, bud) get first dibs at tickets when they go onsale at 10 a.m. PST on Oct. 17. This is the link you're looking for.
Don't fall into those two camps? Public tickets go onsale at 10 a.m. PST on Oct. 22 right here. Bookmark it, check it, discount double-check it, do whatever you gotta do, 'cause come Oct. 22, that's your ticket to uh, tickets. And as an added bonus, every fan that purchases a ticket gets a free physical copy of the band's upcoming new album, "This House Is Not For Sale" (they're obviously fans of Ryan Adams), that'll be out on Nov. 4. Winning!
So there you have it folks, Bon Jovi are finally returning to San Diego with a brand new album in tow and tickets go onsale in only a couple weeks. Best of luck, friends -- we'll be seeing you there.
And as Jon would say: "Have a nice day!"
