A man accused of performing lewd acts on a 12-year-old girl appeared in court for the first time on Thursday.
Christopher Nutt, 24, was arrested on several sex charges involving a minor after police found him with a missing Escondido girl on Sunday.
The 12-year-old met Nutt through an online social network and their relationship had been going on for a month, according to investigators.
Nutt was charged with 10 felonies, including six counts of lewd act on a child, two counts of unlawful sex with a minor, two counts of making pornography and possession of pornography.
If convicted, he faces 20 years in state prison.
