Suspect Attacks Couple with Pole

The alleged pole assault happened to a couple in North Park Wednesday evening

A couple in North Park experienced a bizarre attack Wednesday evening.

According to police, a woman and her boyfriend were on the 3000 block of 30th Street around 6:20 p.m. when they were confronted by a suspect carrying some sort of pole.

The suspect allegedly hit the couple several times with the pole and then fled the scene, police said.

Medics were requested for the male and female victims. They were both transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were conscious and breathing, according to authorities.

It is still unclear if the couple knew the suspect.

Police are looking for the suspect and investigating the motive behind the assault.
