Driver Leaves Passenger With Serious Injuries After Crashing Car in Lincoln Park

A 79-year-old man is on life support after the driver of the car he was in crashed into two parked cars in the 500 block of 47th Street early Sunday morning around 4:49 a.m, San Diego police confirmed. 

The female driver, in her 50s, got out of the car and left the scene on foot Police are still searching for her.

"I heard a boom, so I rushed outside to see what the commotion was," Gregory Walton said. "As I am getting my bearings to get information about who did all this when I came back, the driver had gone down the street."

Walton's truck was damaged in the hit-and-run. 

The 79-year-old victim was sleeping unrestrained in the back seat when the crash happened. He has a traumatic brain injury, police said.

A 39-year-old male passenger in the front seat suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
