Embattled Beauty Queen Set to Wed Her King

The dethroned queen to marry NFL QB Kyle Boller

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean will soon have a new title: Mrs. Boller.

The ex-beauty queen will tie the knot Friday with the Raider's back-up to the back-up quarterback, Kyle Boller, E! News reports. Prejean, 23, and the 29-year-old quarterback reserved an unspecified number of rooms at the Grand Del Mar Hotel for the weekend wedding, a resort employee told E!

The controversial pageant queen gathered nationwide attention last year after blaming her loss in the Miss USA competition on her opposition to gay marriage.

“We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” Prejean told celebrity blogger and pageant judge Perez Hilton during the competition. “No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Prejean won runner-up in the pageant and became the darling of some in the conservative movement for her comments.

While Miss USA owner Donald Trump initially rallied to Prejean’s defense against critics, Trump later stripped Prejean of her Miss California crown, citing breach of contract.

Prejean went on to sue pageant officials but later settled amid reports of a sexually explicit video.

Prejean and Boller started dating in July 2009, at the height of the pageant controversy, and were engaged in February.
