A female pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car in La Jolla Saturday, according to police.
Authorities said the collision happened around 1:30 p.m. near Torrey Pines Road and Hidden Valley Road.
A 61-year-old female pedestrian stepped off a median and was hit by a blue Ford Focus driven by a 69-year-old male, police said.
The pedestrian sustained a serious head injury and was transported to a local hospital. Her current condition is unknown.
Officers temporarily closed down a portion of La Jolla Scenic Drive North following the collision.
The accident is under investigation. Police do not believe alcohol played a role.
