One Arrested for Suspected Looting in Alpine

As people were fleeing their homes ahead of the West Fire in Alpine, some less-than-savory characters are using this an opportunity to pillage.

One such person was arrested Friday afternoon for alleged looting, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies said Adrian Iseni, 29, was caught around 2 p.m. in the 1500 block of Highland View Road near Viejas Creek with stolen properties and burglary tools.

A woman driving by saw Iseni leaving her friend's home and confronted the suspect.

She told NBC 7 Iseni looked suspicious because he was wearing a hoodie with long pants and carrying a large tote bag in a 115 degrees heat.

The woman alerted her husband and neighbors, some of whom are off-duty law enforcement officers, about the suspect. They cornered to suspect and called the sheriff's department.

Iseni was booked into Central Jail on charges of providing a false name to a peace officer, stealing or burglarizing during a state of emergency or local emergency, and possession of stolen property.
