A 56-year-old motorcyclist from San Marcos was killed after colliding head-on with a BMW Sunday morning in North County, California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed.
The crash happened just before noon in the 400 block of Deer Springs Road in San Marcos.
The man, who was riding southbound, veered into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, CHP said.
The man was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 60-year-old BMW driver had no reported injuries.
It is not known if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
