Massage Parlor May Not Get a Happy Ending

The city wants to shut down an Oceanside massage parlor that allegedly is involved in prostitution, according to the North County Times.

City Attorney John Mullen filed a civil lawsuit against Dr. O'side located on the 2100 block of South Coast Highway on Friday, hoping to get it declared a public nuisance.

The 11-page complaint states that although the parlor advertises massages that sound innocent enough, it is also a  "breeding ground for criminal activity" such as lewdness and prostitution since at least 2006. The complaints also said that despite several arrests of employees, there has been "continual and escalated law enforcement activities" and that the problem has not been remedied.

The business and its owner as well as three property owners are named as defendants in the complaint, the paper reported.

Damages of as much as $25,000 each  and closure of the premises for a least a year are being sought.
