Man Attacked by Bee Swarm

The victim was stung 30 times

Paramedics were called out to Golden Hill Tuesday evening to help a man stung by bees 20-to-30 times.

Police got a call of a tree down, just south of Balboa Park and arrived to find the man suffering from the bee stings, according to the San Diego Police Department.

A hive was inside the tree, and the bees began attacking the man as he rode his bicycle nearby.

Greg and Jenny Merino helped the man by calling paramedics and taking him inside.

"He was just absolutely frantic because they were all over him they were in his hair," said Greg Marino.

The victim is expected to survive, according to officials.
