Ten people have been displaced in a garage fire that blazed through a double garage in Oceanside just after midnight Tuesday, officials said.
Firefighters arrived on scene at 12:12 a.m. to find a detached double garage engulfed in flames on the 4000 block of Baycliff Way, the Oceanside Fire Department said.
The firefighters worked to battle the blaze for 30 minutes before they were able to put it out, though they continued to spray down hot spots for the following hour.
Heat and smoke from the fire led officials to evacuate ten people living in the apartment complex above the garage though there was only minor damage to the apartment building.
The double garage is scorched inside and left $150,000 in damages, including one car.
The fire is under investigation.
