Cops Hunt Hit-and-Run Killer

The California Highway Patrol is hunting for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on a freeway overnight.

The CHP is also trying to locate any witnesseses to the woman's death. Officials said they received a 911 call at about 1:15 a.m. about a body in the southbound lanes of Interstate 805 just before the state Route 163 split.
 
"All we know is that we got a call of a body in the roadway, and when we responded, there was a body lying in the roadway." CHP Sgt. Oscar Alva said.


The victim was dead when the officers arrived. Law enforcement does not have a description of the vehicle yet, nor has the woman,who was between 25 and 35, been identified. Anyone with information is being asked to call the CHP.
