Charger Girls Auditions This Sunday

The auditions for the Charger Girls will be held on Apr. 15

The San Diego Chargers are looking for some new, energetic cheerleaders to represent the local team.
 
On Sunday Apr. 15, the University of San Diego will hold auditions for the 2012 Charger Girls professional team. The check-in registration is at 9 a.m., followed by the auditions at 10 a.m.
 
Every candidate who's trying out for the team must be at least 18 years old and needs to fill out and print the application, which can be found online.

There will be a $25 registration fee. Every candidate should also submit a 5x7 headshot and/or a full body shot along with their application.

As for the dress code, women are asked to wear a two-piece leotard and flesh-colored nylon/ hosiery. Jazz, dance or athletic shoes are also mandatory.

Only 28 positions will be filled. Finalists will be interviewed on Tuesday,  Apr. 17, and the last dance audition will be held on Thursday, Apr. 19.

Chargers Girls communication coordinator Jennifer Rojas said applicants can just have fun at the auditions. There's no need to be nervous.

Judges will be looking for girls that have crowd appeal, showmanship, a great personality and, of course, stellar dancing skills.
