ATV's, BMW Cycles, Hybrids Hit Auction Block

The County of San Diego and surrounding cities are offering some surplus vehicles and equipment to the highest bidder at an auction this weekend.

The list of items includes trucks, vans, cars, SUV's, utility pickups, electric cars, dump truck, grader, BMW Police Motorcycles, Suzuki four-wheelers, 1995 Honda Big Red three-wheeler ATVs, and 50 passenger buses.  There's also a 1948 Ford Tractor.

The auction is being run by TNT Auction Company, which has a full list of vehicles being auctioned on its web site

Mitch McKee of TNT said the auction is part of typical turnaround for the county and the cities of Coronado, Santee, Encinitas, and Lemon Grove and the Fallbrook Public Utility.

"As they get new stuff, they have to get rid of the old stuff," he said.  All the items are sold "as is."

Ninety-five percent of the money made goes back to the participants.

Bidders can inspect the vehicles on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The auction starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Fred Grand Arena inside the Ramona Rodeo Grounds at 421 Aqua Lane.
