Three people were taken to the hospital after two crashes spread out across two sites near each other on Interstate 5 near Torrey Pines, officials said.
The crash happened at approximately 6:34 p.m. on I-5 near Carmel Mountain Road, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said.
There are two separate crash scenes near each other that happened at the same time, CHP officers said.
Two people were initially reported unconscious inside the car, though medics were on scene assessing.
Three patients, two in one car and one in the other, were taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla.
No other information was immediately available.
