A couple of local Sears stores are among more than 100 Sears and Kmart stores that are shutting their doors for good, according to the company.
The Sears stores on 12080 Carmel Mountain Rd and 7655 Clairemont Mesa Blvd are closing, according to a company press release.
There was once a time when the Sears Catalog was a reason for excitement.
“Oh my gosh, I remember Sears catalog when I was a little kid, all the toys and Barbie dolls,” said shopper Carol Strickland.
But times have changed.
Sears Holdings says due to weak holiday sales, it will close up to 120 stores that aren't performing.
