Scooter Assault Potentially Linked to Gang

The SDPD Gang Unit is investigating two recent attacks

Two men were attacked by several juveniles and adults with skateboards and scooters Thursday night, Police said.

The attack occurred on 3877 46th St. in the Fairmont Village neighborhood at about 11:30 p.m., SDPD said.

The victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. There is no word on their condition at this time.

Police took seven suspects into custody and the Gang Unit is now investigating the incident.

The gang unit is also investigating another Thursday night attack in Otay Mesa.

Several men were fighting by a trolley station on Iris Ave. One juvenile was stabbed in the upper torso during the fight, and had to be transported to a local trauma center with a punctured lung, an SDPD watch commander said.

The victim was not cooperative with police on the scene.

Police did not say whether the incidents were related.
