A U.S. citizen facing a warrant for murder in Nevada has been stopped while entering California from Mexico.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says Angel Alberto Santana entered the U.S. at the Otay Mesa border crossing yesterday as a passenger in a vehicle.
The agency says in a statement that officers detained the 26-year old when they learned he had outstanding warrants for homicide and flight to avoid prosecution in Las Vegas.
Santana is at the San Diego County jail. Authorities will seek to extradite him to Nevada.
