Drug Giant Partners With Stem-Cell Gurus

Drug giant Pfizer has inked a deal with a local biotech, according to a published report.

The two year deal with Novocell is for an undisclosed amount, the voiceofsandiego.org reported. The agreement will focus on Novocell's success transforming the embryonic stem cells into pancreatic cells that produce insulin.

Theoretically, the treatment could end the need for insulin shots.
