Encinitas Hosts Own Version of Restaurant Week

Nine popular North County eateries plan to participate in the community’s 2nd annual Restaurant Week

As San Diego Restaurant Week goes down across the county, Encinitas will host its very own, hyperlocal version of a similar dining event catering to the North County community.

For the second year, the Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association will host Restaurant Week, from Jan. 17 through Jan. 23, highlighting some popular local eateries and members of the Association, which is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing downtown Encinitas.

Organizers say Encinitas Restaurant Week features nine participating restaurants, all offering special, prix fixe menus to patrons. This year, the eateries in the lineup include:

• Bier Garden
• Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria
• Encinitas Fish Shop
• Leucadia Pizzeria
• Lobster West
• Lumberyard Tavern
• Solace & the Moonlight Lounge
• Trattoria i Trulli
• UNION Kitchen and Tap

The Restaurant Week menu at Bier Garden, for instance, includes three courses: a choice of Seafood Chowder or Roasted Beet Salad to start, followed by entrée selections of either Salmon Teriyaki, Ribeye Steak and Frites or Mussels & Chorizo. For dessert, diner can choose either Raspberry Cheesecake or a Hot Mess Brownie. The prix fixe menu is available for $30 per person.

All Encinitas Restaurant Week menus range from $20 (Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria) to $35 (Solace & the Moonlight Lounge). The event is a joint effort by Encinitas 101, Yelp and Visit California. For more info and menus, visit the Encinitas 101 website.
