Sounds Like San Diego: August 22
The Pictographs head up a fundraiser at the Merrow on Tuesday.

While it might feel like electronic music has had an explosion in the 2000s, it's been growing and evolving for decades. Referring to artists from the '90s as "legends" might be premature, but VNV Nation are certainly pioneers in the game. Their Casbah show tonight is sold out but it didn't feel right to let them roll through town without a mention. Around town, North County's the Pictographs head up a punk-rock fundraiser at the Merrow, and Brian Hill and the Noh Starrs, a rock band from NYC whose debut just dropped on Friday and is already garnering critical praise, play Soda Bar. If you're a fan of classical music, La Jolla Summerfest draws to a close this week and is in its final performances, including tonight's Mozart Enchantment at Conrad Prebys Concert Hall at UCSD.
