Well, look at us, San Diego. Four big shows tonight, all sold out. Pinback has their second night at the Casbah, Big Head Todd returns to the Belly Up, and classic rockers Blue Oyster Cult play Sycuan. The especially exciting show for me is Peter Murphy at the Observatory North Park, because for the first time in many years, he'll share the stage with David J -- who lives locally and makes the occasional special appearance around town himself. If you're at a show and spot David J in the crowd, you know it's a special night. If you didn't get tickets to these four hot shows, you've got a solid DJ night at Bar Pink, sludge metal locals Gutter play at Soda Bar, and our buddies Inspired and the Sleep play in North County at the Pour House Oceanside.
