Bill Nye “Feeling Much Better” After USC Collapse

Instead of coming to his aid, one student said audience members just texted and tweeted

Bill Nye is said to be "feeling much better" from rest, a day after the TV personality fainted during a presentation at USC.

"He says he pushed himself too hard after a long day of an early satellite media tour combined with a late night speech," his rep told USA Today.

Nye, 54, is the host of the Emmy-winning 1990s television show "Bill Nye the Science Guy."

On Tuesday, Nye collapsed on stage in front of hundreds of people, then got up and continued his presentation, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Paramedics and campus safety officers responded, and he was eventually removed from the stage after trying to continue his speech.

USC senior Tristan Camacho told the Times Nye collapsed in mid-sentence at the podium.

"Then after about 10 seconds, he popped back up with much gusto and asked everybody how long he was out for and went on with a story about how a similar thing happened to him that morning," Camacho told the Times.

Another student, USC senior Alastair Fairbanks, told the Times that, at first, nobody went to Nye's aid. He said students were texting and updating their Facebook and Twitter pages.

"It was just all a very bizarre evening," Fairbanks told the Times.
