A Poway man slammed his car into transformers 8 p.m. Thursday on Stowe Drive and Community Road., causing a power outage in the surrounding areas.
Benjamin Fulton was driving westbound on Stowe Drive when he collided with two power transformers. He was taken to the hospital and suffered injuries to his face.
At one point about 600 people were without power, but SDG&E made repairs to the area and all power was restored.
Fulton was issued a citation for suspicion of driving under the influence and released at the hospital.
