Tractor Trailer Crashes, Spills Diesel

A tractor-trailer driver lost control of his vehicle, and jackknifed, hanging over a wall at the connector for southbound State Route 163 to State Route 52.

The crash happened at approximately 2 a.m. Friday.

California Highway Patrol says rain was likely a major cause of the accident.

The truck’s ruptured fuel tank spilled on both highways according to Officer John Alvarez.

Hazmat crews used sand to soak it up.

Emergency crews treated the driver on the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash scene has been cleared and roads were re-opened before 7 a.m.
