A man was reunited with his Golden Retriever Monday after a suspect allegedly stole his car, dog and all.

The driver of a truck was parked at a Normal Heights gas station in the 3100 block of Adams Ave. at about 3:30 p.m.

When the victim went inside the gas station's store, the suspect reportedly got into the truck with the dog inside and took off.

The victim told NBC 7 that the suspect was a transient.

Police were able to locate the truck, which was heading westbound on Adams Ave. Officers pulled the suspect over and took him into custody.

The dog and the owner were reunited shortly after.
