From the 5K color run to the convention center packed with all things baseball to the All-Star Game, security will be an important part of the All-Star Week festivities.
Fans will be wanded to get into the convention center, officers will be on every corner and bomb sniffing dogs are at the ready for the tens of thousands of fans expected at the festivities this week.
Fan Maggie Espinosa said people shouldn't have to live in fear whenever there's a crowd.
"I think that people are getting sick of this,” she said. We're getting tired of it you know and I think everybody's banding together and it's just going to be peaceful."
Bridget Mallet and her friends are keeping in mind what happened in Dallas, but they're not letting it cast a shadow on this week's all-star game festivities.
"This is just like a family thing,” she told NBC 7. “This is something where we can like come together and put aside our differences and just have fun.”
The All-Star Game will be on Thursday, and tight security is expected there was well.
