San Diego Man Accused of Sending Explicit Material to Dance Mom Star JoJo Siwa

A San Diego man was in custody Thursday, accused of sending explicit material to an 11-year-old girl featured on the reality TV show "Dance Moms."

Phoenix Sundown was arrested Wednesday after Pennsylvania Postal inspectors found suspicious packages sent to Jojo Siwa, a cast member of the Lifetime show featuring the Pittsburgh-based dance school.

Her nickname is "JoJo with a Bow Bow" for her fondness of hair bows and shiny accessories. The young dancer certainly caught the eye of 36-year-old Sundown.

Sundown became infatuated with the youngster so much so he tattooed her portrait on his neck, investigators allege.

NBC 7 tracked down San Diego tattoo artist Michael Anthony who requested we not show his face on camera.

Sundown walked into Tattoos on Fifth on July 31, showed a picture of Jojo and asked Anthony to draw the photo on his neck.

“I don't think this is the picture. That definitely looks like her,” Anthony said. 

Company records verify the date and include a copy of Sundown's driver’s license. 

“He explained to me the picture that he brought was a close likeness to his sister or a wife or girlfriend of his,” Anthony said.

Police and Allegheny County's bomb squad were at the Murrysville Pennsylvania post office Tuesday evening investigating the report of five suspicious packages. WPXI-TV verified the packages were addressed to Siwa. 

“There was no obvious evidence I should say of explosive materials. There was other contents inside that were collected as evidence,” Murrysville Police Sgt. Tom Kusinsky said.

That evidence is described as explicit material.

“That horribly disgusts me. I want to break his jaw. I can only feel for this girl and whoever he is harassing," Anthony said.

Anthony unwittingly performed the work and now harbors a haunting regret.

“As an artist, a professional artist, I feel horrible that now I am a part of this guy’s ability to harass somebody,” Anthony said.

Sundown is in custody in San Diego County jail on a felony charge of sending harmful material with the intent to seduce a minor.

According to his booking information he is due in court Thursday. San Diego Police say the case is being handled by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

The group is investigating any other possible contact the suspect may have had with the reality show dancer or other potential victims.
