An El Cajon mother is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing her son.
Detectives arrested 66-year-old Josephine Ring Thursday as she left a health care facility in La Mesa.
Ring shot her 48-year-old son, Vincent Bonfiglio, at their home on Tina Street last month, according to investigators.
They say the only other person home at the time of the shooting was Ring's husband who is an Alzheimer’s patient and isn't able to provide any useful information.
