A man that was hit and killed while walking on Morena Boulevard has been identified.
Pete Harold Georgiou, 85, was walking on the southbound lanes near the 3800 block of Morena Boulevard when a Ford van driven by a man in his 60s hit him.
Early Tuesday morning, the Medical Examiner’s office said Georgiou was standing barefoot in the middle of the southbound lanes of the street.
The driver of the van was going approximately 45 miles per hour when he hit the victim.
When officers arrived, they found him lying on the street, unresponsive. Paramedics that later arrived confirmed he had died from obvious fatal trauma.
Georgiou lived at home with his wife in San Diego.
