Man With ‘Blood Shot Eyes' Follows Poway Girl

Girl reported the incident to police

A girl called the sheriff's department Friday morning after a man attempted to kidnap her, she said.

The incident occurred as the girl was walking to Meadowbrook Middle School in Poway, deputies said.

The girl was walking along a dirt path through a brushy, open area behind the school, she told deputies. A man appeared out of the bushes and followed her for a short distance along the way.

She ran away from the man and quickly lost sight.

Later, after an investigation, deputies determined there was no actual attempted kidnapping by the male. They say the man was "annoying" the girl.

Still, deputies searched the area from the ground and with an aerial support unit. They did not find the suspect.

The girl described the suspect as an older man, about 5'9'' tall with a brown and gray beard. She said he looked dirty and had blood shot eyes.

Deputies do not believe the suspect is the same man who exposed himself to two girls in Rancho Bernardo earlier this week.

On Wednesday, San Diego police reported a 16-year-old was approached Monday around 6:30 a.m. while she was walking to a bus stop at Poblado Road and West Bernardo Drive. A man followed the teenager and nearly touched her police said. The girl ran to the bus stop and the man ran to his car according to police.

Minutes later, at 7:05 a.m., police said the same man approached an 18-year-old at the corner of Calle Saucillo anad Avenida Alcachofa. The man exposed his genitals, asked her a vulgar question and then ran.
