Three Men Arrested in Lemon Grove Murder

Police have arrested three men in connection to the Lemon Grove murder of 23-year-old Avel Michael Edgar

Homicide detectives have arrested three men in connection with a murder that occurred March 14 in the 8200 block of Mount Vernon Street in Lemon Grove.

Police said they took 18-year-old Eugene Veal into custody on March 28 for his involvement in the Lemon Grove killing of 23-year-old Avel Michael Edgar. Veal was booked into the San Diego Central Jail and is currently being held without bail, according to police.

On March 29, detectives also arrested 19-year-old Alfredo Hayes in connection to the murder. On April 2, detectives arrested 20-year-old Dasaun Roberts, a third suspect in this Lemon Grove killing.

Roberts was booked into San Diego Central Jail for murder and transporting and selling marijuana. He’s being held without bail.

Detectives will formally present this case to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration. Until then, the investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
