Eldery Woman Robbed Inside Encanto Home

A 71-year-old woman awoke to find a robber going through her purse inside her home in Encanto, Saturday afternoon, according to San Diego police.

The suspect entered through a rear door of the woman's home at 200 Jenna Ct., at around 2:35 p.m. said Sgt. Ray Battrick in a media release.

The woman, who is deaf, was held at gunpoint by the suspect after waking up to find him inside her home, Battrick said.

The man motioned the woman to give him the key to her truck, which she then gave to him, Battrick said.

The suspect fled the scene inside the victim's truck, a white Chevy S-10 with a black rack and California license plate number 6A45329.

He may have stolen her laptop and cell phone as well, Battrick said.

The woman wasn't injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as being 25 to 30-years-old and wearing dark clothing.

The Robbery Unit and the Southeastern Division are investigating.
