Residents in a La Jolla neighborhood were shocked at the suspicious deaths of an elderly couple found in their own home.

Police recieved a call from a family member Wednesday afternoon, who was very concerned about not being able to reach the couple by phone earlier.

When police arrived at the couple's place, they found an 81-year-old man, and a 77-year-old woman dead in their home.

At this point, San Diego police are not saying anything about how the couple died in their home on the 8700 block of Caminito Sueno.

Many neighbors said they didn't know the cMysouple, and those who did said the couple was nice. All were saddened to hear about the suspicious deaths of their neighbors.

At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, police had the home taped off and only people who lived there could come in or out.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., investigators cleared the area.

The homicide unit is calling these deaths "suspicious." However, investigators are not saying if this was a murder-suicide.

There are currently no outstanding suspects nor were there any signs of forced entry in their home.
